Buchanan appointed by Maple Energy PLC.

Maple, the ethanol focused energy company based in Peru, has appointed Buchanan as its financial communications consultancy. Maple is listed on AIM in London and also in Lima, Peru, where it is one of  the most actively traded stocks in the market. The company is about to start production from its recently completed $250m ethanol plant in northern Peru, it also has 100% working interest in 3 producing oilfields which generate around 500 bopd. To date its primary source of revenues has been from its oil refining and marketing operations. Maple owns 13,500 hectares of uncultivated land on which it grows all its own sugar cane feedstock. Peru has ideal conditions for growing sugar cane and produces yields higher than Brazil. First production from the ethanol plant is due to start in Q4 2011.
